Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or date of birth typed into one of the search boxes on this site goes to the outside provider running that tool. The provider processes the query and returns whatever it holds. Nothing typed into those boxes is stored or logged on this end.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to this site is kept so it can be answered. Those messages stay inside our small team, and they are not shared with anyone outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Basic technical details arrive with every page load:
- The address your device uses to reach the internet
- Your browser, its version, and your operating system
- The device type you are reading on
- Which pages opened, in what order, and how long each stayed on screen
- The page or search engine that sent you here
- Time stamps attached to each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device that show how visitors move through the site, including which pages draw the most visits and where readers tend to leave. Analytics services summarize that traffic. Browser settings can block cookies at any time, and some parts of the site may behave differently when they are blocked.
What We Do With This Data
- Keep the site online and loading quickly
- Pass search requests to the correct partner service
- Learn which pages help readers and which ones need work
- Find and repair technical problems
- Serve advertising that may reflect your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell warrant records or databases of warrant information. It publishes general guidance about where Carroll County warrant records are held and how a reader checks them through the Maryland Judiciary's case search, the clerks who keep the files, and the sheriff's warrant unit. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing collected from visitors becomes a consumer report or a file about a third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search tools on these pages belong to outside companies. Every query entered into one of those tools is handled under that company's own privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners decide how long they keep data and who else sees it, and their practices are outside our control. Read the partner's policy before running a search with personal details in it.
Links to Other Websites
Pages here link out to sheriff's office sites, Maryland court pages, state statute text, and third-party search tools. Following one of those links leaves this site, and the destination's privacy policy then applies. Review that policy before sharing anything personal.
Advertising partners may also track activity across websites to select which ads appear. That tracking happens on their systems, not on this one.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Some information may still reach:
- Search partners that handle queries run from this site
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place the ads on these pages
- Courts, law enforcement, or other government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security practices are used to protect what the site collects. No internet service can promise perfect safety, so the goal is reasonable protection rather than a guarantee that a breach can never happen.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. Personal information from anyone under 18 is not knowingly collected. A parent or guardian who believes a minor has sent information here can ask for it to be deleted, and it will be removed promptly.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where a visitor lives, Maryland's Public Information Act, General Provisions Article, Title 4, and other state consumer-protection law may add rights over personal data. At a minimum, a visitor can ask to:
- Receive a copy of what is held about them
- Correct information that is wrong
- Request deletion of their data
- Refuse certain kinds of processing
The Maryland Public Information Act governs records held by state and local agencies, and it includes the same confidentiality limits that apply to court and police files.
Updates to This Policy
This policy can change as the site changes. When it does, the revised text appears on this page with a new effective date, so the current version is always the one shown here.
Effective date: September 15, 2026
